What is it?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a lightweight XML format designed for sharing headlines and other Web content. Originated by UserLand in 1997 and subsequently used by Netscape to fill channels for Netcenter, RSS has evolved into a popular means of sharing content between sites.
How can you use them?
-Use a program known as a News Aggregator to collect, update and display RSS feeds.
-Incorporate RSS feeds into your site using PHP or easy to use Java code!

This will give you the latest news headlines from all categories. You can specify different markets so you only see headlines from the category that interests you most.

To specify only Reptile & Amphibian headlines, you would use this url:

To specify only Dog related headlines, you would use this url:
http://www.petpress.net/news/headlines/rss/index.php?market=dog

The full list of categories you can choose from are:

An invalid category will cause the system to deliver headlines from all categories.
